Position: Graduate School Chaplain Location: Wheaton, IL
Job Id: 318 # of Openings: 1 GRADUATE SCHOOL CHAPLAIN This is a Part-Time position; 15 hours per week, 9 months per year. RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible to the Chaplain for overseeing the chapel program for the graduate school, providing pastoral care for grad students, staff and faculty, and encouraging the spiritual development of the graduate school community. DUTIES: 1. Direct the graduate chapel program by selecting chapel speakers, leading students to worship the Triune God, and overseeing a spiritual curriculum that guides them through their time at Wheaton.2. Foster a healthy spiritual climate on campus, growing programs and services for spiritual formation.3. Preach the Word of God regularly in chapel and speak as requested at College-related activities, alumni meetings, conferences, and retreats.4. Provide pastoral care, counseling, and mentoring for students, faculty, and staff. 5. Encourage an institutional emphasis on prayer through planning and programming with students, faculty, and staff.6. Hire, train and supervise the Graduate Student Chaplains, meeting with them regularly for mentoring.7. Collaborate with the Graduate Student Life Office for information sharing and event planning.8. Sit as a member of the Grad Student Affairs Committee.9. Represent the College to the public with special attention to facilitating connections with area churches and encouraging student commitment to local congregations.10. Perform other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Master of Divinity Degree, or equivalent2. Ordination in a recognized ecclesiastical body3. Doctorate preferred4. At least ten years of experience as a ministry leader in a local church, on a college campus, or through an evangelical outreach agency5. Complete commitment to the Wheaton College Statement of Faith and Community Covenant
