Provides information and assistance to students, faculty, staff, and affiliated users in locating and obtaining print and online materials and serves as a resource for library services and information. Mainly responsible for processing ILL requests, tracking ILL service statistics, and assisting in solving ILL related issues and problems. Serves as backup for staffing Ballston Coakley Library Extension.

Work schedule is Monday – Friday. Hours will vary during exams, intersessions, and holidays. This position may be asked to work late nights or weekends occasionally as needed. Schedule subject to change.

Minimum Qualifications

*Bachelor’s degree (BA, BS, etc.) from an accredited University or a combination of education and relevant experience.

*1 to 3 years of related experience.

*Ability to work within a team and without supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

*Bachelor’s degree (BA, BS, etc.) in Education, English, Information Technology, Computer Science preferred.

*Customer service; related experience working in an academic or public library or experience as Research Assistant preferred, but not required.

*Basic supervision experience preferred, but not required.

*Knowledge of Library resources and databases, Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), general office equipment, bibliography and citation standards, and software applications typically used in a library setting preferred, but not required.

Processes ILL requests, tracks ILL service statistics, and assists Access Services Coordinator in preparing reports related to ILL service. Reports issues with ILL service to Access Service Coordinator and assists in solving ILL related issues and problems. Supports all functions related to ILL.

Manages Circulation Desk for regularly scheduled time periods and oversees performance of essential circulation duties including answering questions, checking material in/out, collecting fees, and other related tasks. Instructs, assists, and informs on the use of library services, products, and equipment.

Collaborates on a variety of teams, task forces, and committees across L&LS.
