The Phanstiel Lab at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (http://www.unc.edu/~dphansti) is looking for a highly motivated and creative postdoctoral fellow to study mechanisms of gene regulation during human development using state-of-the-art molecular, genetic (CRISPR/Cas9), and genomic (Hi-C, ChIP-seq, ATAC-seq and RNA-seq) approaches. We are particularly interested in understanding the mechanisms through which enhancers and three-dimensional chromatin structure alter transcriptional output during cellular differentiation. The successful applicant will use targeted and genome-wide approaches to study transcriptional control during immune cell development both in normal conditions and within the context of the tumor microenvironment. Our research is highly interdisciplinary and involves cutting edge DNA sequencing technology, bioinformatic analysis, and genome editing. We encourage applicants with relevant experience–either experimental or computational–and those looking to develop new skills in these exciting areas.Educational Requirements
