Position Summary:The Department of Pharmacology in the School of Medicine at UNC-Chapel Hill is seeking four candidates with expertise in neural circuit analysis (expertise in neuropeptide signaling is particularly desirable), or cancer pharmacology (expertise in small GTPase signal transduction is particularly desirable).
Educational Requirements:Candidates should have a PhD or MD with significant postdoctoral experience in pharmacology, molecular and cell biology, biochemistry, neurobiology or a related field.
Qualifications and Experience:The successful candidates will be expected to direct an independent research program, compete for extramural and intramural funding and participate in professional and graduate student education. The successful candidates need to have outstanding verbal and written communication skills, state-of-the-art experimental laboratory skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with other investigators and trainees. The selected candidates will also be expected to participate in the instruction of graduate and medical students and serve on departmental committees.
