Two post-doctoral research positions are available in the MRI Engineering Laboratory of Professor Shumin Wang at UNC Chapel Hill, Department of Biomedical Engineering. These positions will support research in novel hardware design and numerical methods for magnetic resonance imaging and spectroscopy.

Educational Requirements

Applicants are expected to have a Ph.D. in Biomedical or Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field.

Qualifications and Experience

The positions will involve working with a team as well as preparing papers, reports, and contributing to grants, and thus excellent writing and communication skills are essential. Applicants must have had graduate experience in one of the following areas with journal publications that demonstrate their proficiency:
1)Hands-on experiences of radio-frequency coil array design, and skills for bench-top and in-scanner testing of coil performance. Proficiency in applying commercial electromagnetic software, such as FEKO and XFDTD, and SolidWorks or AutoCAD. A solid background in MRI physics.
2)Computational electromagnetics algorithm development with a strong preference of moment method. Image processing and segmentation methods.
3)Radio-frequency circuit development that involves amplifiers, mixers, and etc.
