This position is available immediately for an enthusiastic and experienced postdoctoral fellow in the general area of GPCR drug discovery in the Roth lab at UNC-Chapel Hill. This project requires a working knowledge of GPCR pharmacology and in vitro pharmacology (e.g. radioligand binding, second messenger assays).This post-doctoral research associate position’s main duties are in the field of molecular pharmacology. The skills to perform this research require expertise in molecular biology, tissue culture, high-content imaging, and drug discovery-based pharmacology. The job duties include planning the experiments according to protocols and developing new protocols to address new questions. The experiments will be conducted by the post-doctoral researcher; at times as part of a team but, for the vast majority as an individual. Results will be collected and analyzed by the research associate then reported to the Primary Investigator. The Primary Investigator will guide the research associate in interpreting the results of the experiments. Results will be published in academic journals and be presented orally at scientific meetings.

Educational Requirements

PhD in the field of Pharmacology, Biochemistry

Qualifications and Experience

At least two years post-doctoral research experience in pharmacology or drug discovery setting. Cell & molecular biology experience; especially expression of GPCR’s, transporters and ion channels for various assay platforms. Practical experience in adapting protocols to new methodologies and assay platforms.
US Citizens, Permanent Residents or those with a valid US Visas only.
