A postdoctoral scholar position is immediately available in the Sullivan Lab (http://sullivanlab.unc.edu & http://www.med.unc.edu/cpg). We are looking for an extremely talented and highly motivated genetics PhD to work on the genomics of schizophrenia. Recent genomic studies have delivered a multitude of clues from highly significant and replicated CNV, exome sequencing, and genome-wide association studies.

The goal of this position is to convert these associations into actionable biological insights. We urgently need to characterize the molecular and cellular changes resulting from these associations using gene expression and functional studies in multiple cellular assays (e.g., neuronal cell lines, mouse models, and patient-derived iPSCs). This work is part of a novel high-throughput pipeline involving multiple international groups.

Educational Requirements

PhD in genetics required.

Qualifications and Experience

The successful applicant must have demonstrated excellence in applying multiple technologies in the service of understanding the consequences of genetic variation. Excellent writing skills and ability to multitask essential.
