Job Summary and Description

The Community Education Program (Adult Enrichment and Youth) is continually seeking Adjunct Faculty to develop and teach non-credit courses offered intermittently through the Community Education and Workforce Development Division (CEWD). The Adult Enrichment Program offers personal enrichment classes to students over the age of 18. The Youth Program offers classes to youth in 2nd – 12th grade. Both Adult Enrichment and Youth courses are primarily hands-on, interactive classes taught in face-to-face sessions. These short-term classes, which may be offered on an occasional basis, run at various times throughout the year. The Program is seeking Adjunct Faculty with teaching and/or training experience in areas such as:

    Computer/Technology/MultimediaCreative Arts and CultureCurrent Events/Citizenship/LawElectronicsFinancial PlanningHealth and WellnessLanguage and CommunicationPublic Service FieldsScience/Math/Engineering Special Topics and Personal Interest

Education and Experience:

Faculty develop course content consistent with official course syllabi, deliver course instruction to students, assist and advise students outside of class, and assess student learning. Conduct business needs assessment/analysis and provide business consultation. Adjunct faculty work collaboratively with senior department faculty and administrators, attend department/program meetings, and participate in professional development activities. Faculty demonstrate a commitment to diversity, student success, a team-based environment, continuous improvement, and the community college philosophy.


    Bachelor's Degree in a major relevant to the subject area being taught or equivalent combination of education and/or work experience, including licenses, industry certification and/or tested experience in areas relevant to the subject area being taught.

    Three years of instructional teaching and/or corporate training experience. Teaching and/or corporate training experience in a K-12, college and/or corporate setting. Experience using educational technology or other technology relevant to the discipline.
