Description

LCC Athletics student workers are responsible for the set-up and tear down of the Gannon Gym, before and after home volleyball and basketball games/matches. This will entail, but is not limited to the following:

SET-UP Duties (for home athletic events in Gannon gymnasium)

  • Pull bleachers out
  • Put side baskets up
  • Sweep and wet mop floor
  • Set-up scorer's table
  • Set-up chairs for each bench & coolers for table crew and officials
  • Escort officials (referees) to appropriate locker room and make sure each official has 2 towels
  • Escort the teams & coaches to appropriate locker room

TEAR DOWN Duties (after games are complete)

  • Escort officials to appropriate locker rooms
  • Escort visiting team & coaches to locker room or classroom
  • Raise all basketball hoops
  • Rack and store bench chairs
  • Return scorer’s table chairs to 4th floor trophy room
  • Break down scorer’s table and store appropriately
  • Place scoreboard control box in bag with appropriate cables along with microphone in pocket of bag
  • Empty any ice or water from coolers and place them, along with any leftover unopened water bottles, in kitchen area of 4th floor offices

Education and Experience

The following requirements apply each semester, in order to maintain eligibility and continue working as a student employee:

- Enrolled & actively attending is required to maintain employment eligibility (i.e. minimum credit hours at LCC by semester):

    Fall and/or Spring Semester(s) = 6.0 creditsSummer Semester = 3.0 credits

- International students with an F-1 visa and valid I-20 issued by LCC must meet the following minimum enrollment/credit requirements each semester, in order to maintain employment eligibility per United States Citizenship & Immigration Services (USICS) regulations:

    Fall and/or Spring Semester(s) = 12.0 creditsSummer Semester = 3.0 credits
- Must be at least 18 years of age and/or a high school graduate who is at least 17 with a valid, signed work permit

- Minimum 2.0 GPA or have approval to waive requirement unless it is the student’s first semester of enrollment at LCC

Hours per Week: Up to 25 Hours

Hourly Wage: $9.60
