Manages financial aid eligibility determination and awarding processes and ensures compliance with financial aid rules and regulations, resolving customer service issues and handling sensitive and confidential records. Provides extraordinary customer service to students and staff members who require financial aid assistance. Provides oversight for all loan and work study programs at the College.

Essential Functions:

1.Provides financial aid advising to students and families regarding application, eligibility, awarding and processing.
2.Manages the Direct Loan program and all alternative and institutional loan programs.
3.Manages the College’s work study programs.
4.Oversees the default management program.
5.Performs application review and determination of students’ eligibility to prepare files for student aid awarding.
6.Reviews financial aid applications selected for verification, verifying accuracy of data and making corrections if needed.
7.Pursues federal database (C-code) resolution, resolving database mismatches including communicating with students and the pertinent responsible agency, e.g. US Department of Education Processing System (CPS) and National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS).
8.Conducts financial aid workshops on and off campus.
9.Serves as back up support for other areas of the Financial Aid Office, including scholarships and grants.
10.Keeps abreast of federal and state financial aid regulations.
11.Performs other duties as assigned.

Other Duties: Accountabilities:

Under the limited supervision of the Director of Financial Aid, the Loan and Work Study Coordinator is responsible for providing excellent customer service and administering all of the student loan programs as required by federal law and LMC policy.

Job Specifications:

Bachelor’s Degree required. Two or more years’ experience in Financial Aid or related area required. Experience in a customer service oriented environment highly preferred. Must be proficient in Excel and Word. Prior experience with Ellucian Banner strongly preferred. Excellent customer service and organizational skills. Confidentiality.

Grade: 8 Salary Range: $48,214 - $54,995 Special Instructions to Applicants:
