Assistant Professor, Public Administration
The School of Public Administration in the College of Public Service and Leadership Studies at Kentucky State University invites applications for the following full time, tenure track faculty position.
Assistant/Associate Professor of Public Administration
Qualifications: An earned doctorate in public administration or political science is required. (ABDs with clear and imminent completion dates will be considered. Those with political science doctorates must have completed at least 30 graduate hours in public administration.) Candidates possessing teaching experience, academic publication records, applied research experience, and practitioner experience will be preferred. Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications.
Responsibilities: Successful candidates will teach MPA courses (Core, Human Resource Management Specialty, Non-Profit Specialty, and/or Electives), advise students, perform scholarly and/or applied research, and engage in university and community service. Typically, three courses will be taught per semester. Duties may also include teaching on-line and/or undergraduate courses.
The MPA Program is NASPAA accredited and is located in Frankfort, Kentucky’s capital. Kentucky State University was founded in 1886, as a small, land-grant, public, state-assisted, residential, coeducational, liberal studies-oriented University. It is accredited by the University-Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. The University is located in Kentucky’s capital city of Frankfort (population 27,500) just 26 miles west of Lexington, 52 miles east of Louisville, and 96 miles south of Cincinnati, Ohio.
