The successful candidate will teach six course equivalents per year across the Fall, Spring, and Summer terms, including some evening classes. We have new and thriving undergraduate minors in statistics and data science and we are eager to expand our success and begin offering a Master of Science in Data Analytics. A program description may be found at http://www.drew.edu/data-analytics/.

Requirements:

Candidates are expected to teach in Drew’s newly created MS in Data Analytics. Preference will be given to candidates with comprehensive knowledge of data analytics, including implementation of data management plans for the collection, cleaning, and storage of real-world data, analyzing authentic big data sets to support data-driven decision-making, and communication of data-driven conclusions based on an analysis of real-world data to a non-technical audience.

The successful candidate will be prepared to teach most aspects of data analytics and mentor students. We seek candidates who have breadth in the discipline and who are passionate about teaching in a liberal arts context in small classes using innovative techniques. We have an interest in candidates whose work spans disciplinary boundaries. Some specific areas of potential interest include biostatistics, epidemiology, business analytics, computational statistics, data visualization and/or machine learning. Also desirable is the ability to oversee internships and to aid students as they create portfolios of their work. The successful candidate will teach five courses each academic year and will supervise internships and teach a related capstone course in the summer. In addition to excellent teaching, candidates will be expected to maintain an active program of scholarship, broadly defined, and to contribute to the university community through committee service, student advising, collaboration across disciplines, and leadership for data analytics at Drew.
