Work Hours per week 25 Travel Required? Y Primary Function of Organizational UnitGeorgia College Parking and Transportation is responsible for daily campus routes as well as for chartering all athletic teams, student organizations, and departmental trips for faculty, staff, and students. The department includes a large fleet that are utilized throughout the year, as the department is constantly providing transportation throughout the fall, spring, and summer semesters.
Primary Purpose of PositionThis position is responsible, under the direction of the operations manager, for providing transportation services on daily routes and charter trips for university students, employees, and visitors. Charter trips requires off route travel through one day university related trips transporting students, faculty, and staff inside the 50 mile local range of Georgia College. This position also assists with other duties including fueling university vehicles and detailing/cleaning university vehicles.
Key Functions and Related Job Duties Key Function Transporting Job duties performed for the above functionResponsibility #1- Provides safe bus transportation services for students and employees along campus routes in accordance with defined schedules during day or night shifts
Responsibility #2- Provides safe bus transportation services for students and employees on shuttle buses that include charter trips inside the local area
Responsibility #1- Be knowledgeable and follow all DOT and FMCSA regulations in regards to passenger carrier vehicles and follow all department policies and procedures when performing daily job duties and when making decisions to ensure passenger safety
Responsibility #2- Perform safety precautions and daily routines including pre and post trips on university vehicles and reporting maintenance issues
Responsibility #3- Take annual refresher training on department procedures as well as additional training as provided; stay up to date on all driver certifications/licenses (CDL and DOT medical card)
Other duties as assigned that include and are not limited to fueling university vehicles, cleaning the interior/exterior of university vehicles, assisting the maintenance manager and maintenance expediter with various tasks

Minimum Requirements Proposed Minimum Experience/EducationMust have an excellent driving record. High school diploma or equivalent; AND at least five years of driving experience. Must possess a valid Class B Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with Passenger (P) endorsement and DOT Medical Card
