ROLE:
The Assistant/Associate Professor of Computer Science opening is a new faculty position at Concordia University Irvine. The Computer Science major & minor will be offered starting with the 2019-2020 catalog. The Computer Science faculty will be part of the Mathematics Department and the School of Arts & Sciences. The Assistant or Associate Professor of Computer Science will be responsible for developing and teaching computer science courses, as well as developing community partnerships with local companies which employ computer scientists. Additionally, the faculty member will have the opportunity to participate in shaping the general direction and potential areas of specialization in the computer science major.
STAFF RELATIONSHIPS:- Reports to the Mathematics Department Chair & the Dean of the School of Arts & Sciences
- Collaborates with all mathematics & computer science faculty and participates in institution wide academic and co-curricular committees, task forces and teams.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- A terminal degree in computer science, or equivalent combination of education and experience, is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated evidence of successful teaching experience at the college/university level.

Candidates must possess a relevant graduate degree (masters required; terminal preferred) and be a member of a Christian congregation. Candidates will provide evidence of exemplary teaching experience; rank will be awarded according to teaching experience.
