_Dean, Access, Southern Campuses, and Regional Services

The dean assures smooth operations for the three Southern campuses and supervises the coordinators assigned to these facilities. The dean provides oversight for the planning of academic course offerings to meet the needs of students and citizens of the Southern counties served by Columbia State as well as serving the college representative for Early Post-secondary Opportunities. The dean serves as a representative for the college in the assigned service area identifying credit, noncredit and service needs and works as college-wide liaison to respond to the needs of the region. The dean also provides oversight for programming for special populations including evening students, adults, and students enrolled in the federal TRiO programming.

Essential Functions:
1.Manages and directs operations of Columbia State Community College’s extended campuses in the College’s Southern region as well as the Evening Office at the Columbia Campus.
2.Provides guidance and oversight for the federal TRiO program to ensure compliance
3.Works with Enrollment Services to coordinate recruitment, orientation, and other student support activities.
4.Provides oversight for the staff of Office of Adult Programs/Reconnect to provide effective and efficient onboarding and advising processes for this population.
5.Works to establish a presence for Columbia State with area schools and other education providers, civic organizations and community leaders among the assigned communities and represents the college at community events.
6.Works collaboratively with other educational entities to assure that education and training needs are met in the assigned communities.
7.Serves as the college’s representative for Early Post-Secondary Opportunities for schools systems served by the college in Hickman, Giles, Lawrence, Lewis, Marshall, Maury, Perry, and Wayne Counties.
8.Coordinates the schedules of assigned campuses to be responsive to student and community needs and to complement each other.
9.Plans schedules with the appropriate personnel who deliver credit and noncredit activities at the assigned facilities and other teaching locations and who recruit and market the programs at the three campuses and the assigned Southern counties
10.Directs personnel who deliver services to students at each campus to assure that information and processes associated with admissions, advising, financial aid, testing, distance learning, facility maintenance, security, and business services are satisfactorily completed.
11.Administers budgets for three campuses and evening services, according to regulations and guidelines.
12.Ensures that Campus Coordinators are equipped to provide general information and administrative processes relative to admissions, advising, registration, financial aid, and business services.
13.Works cooperatively with local community organizations, business/industry, public schools, agencies and governing bodies to identify and address community needs.
14.Collaborates with other educational providers, (i.e. K-12 and higher education) to deliver education and training services to the area served.
15.Coordinates activities and processes with primary administrative and support offices at the Columbia campus.
16.Prepares budget requests and reports annually about the campuses and counties assigned and the success of their programs and services within budget guidelines.

Requirements of the Position

Education, Training, and Experience Required:

1.Master’s degree, doctorate preferred.
2.Minimum of 5-10 years supervisory experience in higher education
