Job Description:



The Holy Cross dining experience is so much more than great food. It is community experience centered on culinary expertise, wonderful ingredients, healthy options and a shared sense of environmental and social responsibility. Uniforms and campus meals are provided to culinary staff members.


  • Follow established practices and methods to perform various duties providing meals to students and other patrons
  • Serving guests and assisting in food production
  • Stocking and rotating products, setting up and cleaning food production areas while following proper sanitation standards
  • Possible use of a slicing machine, grill, fryolater, pizza oven, stir fry equipment, and/or similar types of equipment, or assisting at catered events with set up, execution, and clean-up
  • Perform a variety of cleaning and washing duties, including cleaning pots, pans, machinery, equipment, utensils, floors, etc.
  • Follow chemical labels and instructions on all cleaning supplies per MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets) and perform proper handling of equipment
  • Set up and operate dish machine and other cleaning equipment, and pick up and dispose of trash, debris, garbage, and waste
  • Maintain assigned work area in neat and orderly manner, including sweeping and assisting in cleaning of the dining and serving rooms.
  • Organize and collect equipment for catered events
  • Perform other similar duties as required or requested

  • Kimball Main - Weekdays 4:30PM-8:30PM, Weekends 6AM-2:30PM
  • Hogan (Crossroads) - Saturday & Sunday 4:30PM -1:00AM
  • Hogan (Crossroads) - Saturday 11:00AM - 5:00PM
  • Hogan (Crossroads) - Wednesday-Sunday 4:30PM -1:00AM, *any days available
  • Hogan (Cool Beans) - Friday 9:00PM -1:30AM
  • Hogan (Cool Beans) - Saturday 9:00PM -1:30AM

  • Hogan (Cool Beans) - Saturday 10:00AM - 2:00PM


Requirements:


  • Strongly prefer, but don't require, previous food service experience, certification in Serve Safe (food safety/sanitation), and experience or training in food allergy meal preparation.
  • Follow proper food service, general safety, and sanitation procedures and standards for food prep
  • Ability to communicate, take direction and interact with faculty, staff and students in a professional, easily understood and courteous manner is essential
  • Good customer service and communication skills to provide a welcoming, friendly, and professional manner to all guests
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environments both independently and as a part of a team
  • Flexibility to cover staffing shortages
  • Ability to follow chemical labels and instructions on all cleaning material and equipment
  • Ability to frequently lift up to 25 pounds; occasionally lifting up to 100 pounds with assistance
