The Joint Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and North Carolina State University is a rapidly growing enterprise which is one of the fastest growing areas of study, research, and employment in the State of North Carolina. We are moving into new space on campus and expanding our faculty, and the department is currently aiming to fill several new positions. For this position, applications are invited for an Assistant Professor (tenure track). This biomedical research area includes areas of regenerative medicine, biomedical devices, microsystems engineering, pharmacoengineering and any emerging area of biomedical engineering.

Educational Requirements

Qualified candidates must have a doctoral degree in Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, or a closely related discipline.

Qualifications and Experience

A qualified candidate will have experience in the broad areas of regenerative medicine, biomedical devices, microsystems engineering, pharmacoengineering and any emerging area of biomedical engineering. He/she will be expected to establish active externally funded research programs and to achieve excellence in teaching and training at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Investigators will collaborate with other clinical and basic science faculty both within Biomedical Engineering and across other departments at both UNC and NC State, including the Hospital, School of Pharmacy and Veterinary School. Primary research space for this position will be located at UNC Chapel Hill.
