Position Summary:

A postdoctoral position is immediately available within a Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center lab at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. We are looking for an enthusiastic and eager, self-motivated postdoctoral researcher able to carry out independent, mentored research projects in cell signaling and cancer biology. Our overall goal is to understand the mechanisms underlying crosstalk between signaling pathways in oral, head, and neck cancers and develop novel therapeutic interventions. To accomplish this goal, we recently developed novel LumiFluor optical reporters suitable for the non-invasive, high resolution in vivo imaging of tumor development, progression, and response to therapeutic intervention.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and eager, self-motivated postdoctoral researcher with good writing skills to carry out independent, mentored research projects in cell signaling and cancer biology. Candidates with a cancer biology background, organoid culture, tissue culture, standard molecular biology techniques, IVIS imaging, and mouse models of disease are encouraged to apply. The Lineberger Cancer Center is an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center and the Biomedical Research Imaging Center (BRIC) has state-of-the-art imaging technologies, thus providing a strong interdisciplinary post-doctoral training opportunity.

Educational Requirements:

PhD biology, molecular biology or related.

Qualifications and Experience:

We are seeking candidates who are highly motivated, have good writing skills and are career-oriented. Candidates should have experience training in cancer biology with animal models and documented expertise in molecular biology techniques. Applicants should submit a cover letter with motivation for the position, long-term career goals, a CV with a list of publications (at least 2 publications in peer-reviewed journals as first author) and 3 letters of recommendation.
