The Roth lab at UNC-Chapel Hill is looking for Postdoctoral fellows in the field of GPCR crystallography. This position will be responsible for purifying and crystallizing membrane proteins and performing duties with a molecular pharmacology focus. Main duties will involve construct design, expression in baculovirus and mammalian expression systems, membrane protein purification, and LCP crystallization. The researcher is expected to carry experiments from molecular biology to a fully refined structure, and complement structural data with biochemical and biophysical assays.Educational Requirements:
PhD in the field of Pharmacology or Biochemistry.Qualifications and Experience:
Candidates must have a minimum of one year experience in the field of Pharmacology or Biochemistry.
Must be motivated and have a strong background in biochemistry and/or structural biology.
Experience with basic molecular biology, protein expression, purification and biochemical characterization is required.
Experience in either membrane protein biochemistry or macromolecular crystallography will be an added advantage is required.
Experience in molecular pharmacology is preferred.
