We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Associate to undertake research as a part of a fast-paced highly collaborative team in the Infectious Diseases Division and Center for AIDS Research. This is a multi-disciplinary research center with various current translational studies. Our research synergizes with the current research activity in the Infectious Diseases Division with emphasis on HIV transmission, pathogenesis, persistence, prevention and cure. We have an independently funded research program that investigates the role of the human microbiome in all aspects of HIV infection.Educational Requirements
Applicants should possess a MD and/or PhD in Microbiology, Virology, Immunology, Cell Biology, Physiology, Molecular Biology or related field or discipline.Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate will have experience and interest in the human microbiome, gnotobiotics, HIV, basic science models of infection, rodent handling, flow cytometry, tissue culture, microscopy and techniques in cellular immunology. The candidate should also have a strong background in biostatistics and be proficient in bioinformatic analyses to characterize microbial community structures and to make associations between microbial taxa and biological outcomes.
Strong laboratory and analytical skills as demonstrated by a strong track record of relevant publications is required.
Outstanding English communication skills (written and oral) are essential.Equal Opportunity Employer
