This position encompasses four key areas of responsibility: program design, digital learning, faculty engagement and learning elements.

The Director serves as an expert in andragogy and contributes to an environment of innovation, collaboration, and overall educational excellence, positioning EE as a leader in the Executive Education space. S/he evaluates customer requirements and assesses, designs, develops, and evaluates innovative and customized learning solutions to meet their needs, interfacing with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, faculty, UCLA, Anderson and EE staff, and external suppliers.

Researching, building and implementing digital learning tools is a critical area of focus for the Director of Design and Learning Innovations as EE seeks to enhance its blended learning offerings. This position will be responsible for aligning digital learning efforts with EE strategy, and managing a team of programmers, instructional designers, and internal UCLA and UCLA Anderson stakeholders to successfully launch new initiatives.

The Director of Design and Learning Innovations is EE's key implementation specialist and Chief Creativity Officer as it pertains to innovative learning technologies, and curriculum design. S/he must envision, design, deploy and operationalize complex and fresh leadership and organizational development solutions that include classroom, virtual and experiential learning.

As supervisor to the Associate Director of Design & Learning Innovations and Assessment and Coaching Talent Manager, the Director must be well-versed in Individual and Team Executive Coaching, Personality Assessments, and Learning Journals and able to direct and manage this work. While there is some overlap between the two positions, the focus of the Director of Design is the creation and operationalization of curriculum innovations. Percentage of Time: 100 Shift Start: 8:00 am Shift End: 5:00 pm function checkForSelectedStatus(){ return true;} Qualifications for Position 24 Records Qualifications Required/Preferred Master's degree in Business, Human Resources, Organizational Development, Instructional Systems Design or other relevant field and five or more years' experience working in the field of executive development. Professional and demonstrated curriculum development and instructional design experience in executive development. Required Demonstrated expertise in instructional design, needs analysis, educational technology, distance learning, with solid understanding of andragogy, and trends in innovative instruction trends and faculty development in Executive Education. Best practice experience of instructional design principles, electronic learning, coaching, assessments, course materials, and adult learning.      Required Ability to lead the design process for blended learning offerings with clients -from idea generation, to program development to program measurement -and effectively manage various stakeholders in the process. Ability to future-think and envision design, implement and operationalize creative program design elements to ensure UCLA's reputation as an EE provider of excellence. Required Thorough knowledge of developing and delivering training programs, with demonstrated experience facilitating training and educational sessions for adults. Required Demonstrated innovative outcomes in evaluating and implementing educational instructional technologies. Expert knowledge of current and emerging technologies which can be applied to instructional and academic activities including knowledge of streaming audio and video, podcasting, mobile applications, social media and other Web 2.0 tools. Ability to design, implement and facilitate experiential and virtual learning activities. Required Proven competence in instructional design that showcases understanding of adult learning theory with ability to creatively design, deploy and operationalize complex, innovative leadership development and organizational development solutions that include classroom and experiential learning. Experience with interactive teaching methods, developing teaching materials and designing learning activities. Enthusiasm for researching and experimenting with emerging classroom technologies and comfort using digital tools for instruction and communication. Required Expertise in Executive Coaching, including various coaching models and theories, including emotional intelligence, leadership development, and how individual development impacts organizational impact, culture, politics, systems, power, and influence. Coaching Certification preferred. Birkman Method and, Korn Ferry360 Certification required. Golden Profiler, MBTI, Hogan, and other assessments preferred. Required Supervisory experience and skill in leading teams. Skill in organizing work flow to accomplish established objectives, delegating responsibility, training, evaluating subordinate effectiveness and administering necessary discipline. Required Advanced project management and organizational skills, including the ability to execute on a number of diverse projects simultaneously while managing details and meeting deadlines. Executive-level organizational ability, effective delegation and follow through. Required Demonstrated skill in working independently with minimal direction, with the ability to make independent judgments and/or decisions and to discern when action of a higher level is required. Required Ability to work evenings and weekends, both at the University and remote locations. Required Skill in setting priorities which accurately reflect the importance of job responsibilities and which maintain organization and efficiency in completing work in a timely manner when there are changes in the workload, changes in assignments, pressures of deadlines, competing requirements and heavy workload. Required Excellent analytical and research skills, including data analysis and interviewing skills, as well as creative marketing and problem solving skills. Outstanding critical thinking skills. Required Demonstrated ability to manage multiple responsibilities, deadlines, and personalities and ability to foresee and resolve wide variety of business problems and take action where answers to a problem are not readily apparent. Required Compelling interpersonal skills and experience delivering services in a high-touch environment. Excellent client management, relationship marketing and consultative sales skills, with proven experience establishing successful, long-term business relationships with the senior level executives of corporations, trade associations and non-profit entities, using effective sales and presentation skills to professionally represent UCLA in a variety of settings. Ability to promote and demonstrate the value of EE's services to clients, faculty, and staff. Required High level of initiative with the ability to integrate diverse opportunities and complex viewpoints into simple business solutions. Required Excellent oral and written communications skills, including the proven ability to write professional corporate proposals, based on understanding clients' needs and expert knowledge of EE, and superior interpersonal skills with the ability to make professional executive-level presentations. Required Strong proficiency using various hardware and software programs: Word (creation of forms & tables, signs, labels), Excel (formulas, database function, spreadsheets, data sorts, mail merges, etc.), PowerPoint, email, electronic calendaring system, Internet (web searches), contact management software, travel and entertainment reimbursement software (Express preferred), registration database (Flatbridge) and Contact Management software (Salesforce preferred) Ability to design online courses that are ADA compliant preferred. Ability to use graphics to communicate high impact proposals to clients (including SmartArt and other graphic elements). Demonstrated experience in educational technology platforms. Required Ability to professionally represent EE and the University, and attend offsite programs and client meetings at local, out-of-state, and international locations. Required Ability to deliver a superior level of customer service with excellent capability for follow through and follow up to commitments made to potential and existing customers, adhering to timelines, budgets, and promises for information. Required Demonstrated understanding of current domestic and international business topics, management development trends and topics. Experience
conducting business in international locations, and comfort interacting with other cultures and in international settings. Required Knowledge of Executive Education Programs, MBA-level management education, training, and professional development. Required Ability to identify confidential and sensitive information and handle with tact and discretion.
