The Associate Director serves as a pedagogical expert and contributes to an environment of innovation, collaboration, and overall educational excellence, positioning EE as a leader in the Executive Education space. S/he evaluates customer requirements and assesses, designs, develops, and evaluates learning solutions to meet their needs, interfacing with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, faculty, UCLA, Anderson and EE staff, and external suppliers.

The Associate Director is responsible for the management and implementation of EE's Assessment and Coaching Practice, with the goal of increasing EE's revenues, competency and ability to service clients in this area. S/he creates and incorporates a portfolio of Assessments and Executive Coaches that integrate with EE's custom and open programs to further develop participants' leadership and management competencies. The Associate Director manages all elements of the Coaching Practice, including sourcing, onboarding, and ongoing communication with contractor coaches, designing client coaching engagements in partnership with EE staff and contractor coaches, collaborating with partners to ensure coaching and assessments are appropriately interwoven into EE programs, and scoping out individual client coaching requests that align with EE strategy.

In the custom program realm, the Associate Director is responsible for the program development process with clients, including responding to initial program inquiries, strategically responding to Requests for Proposals, attending client meetings as necessary, and developing a comprehensive, pedagogically sound program and curriculum that meets client learning objectives and budgetary requirements.

The Associate Director prepares proposals to follow up on client meetings and interfaces directly with executive education clients to submit and follow through on proposals, budgets and contracts.

The Associate Director must have comprehensive knowledge of the competitive executive education landscape and existing and potential EE clients. S/he adheres to UCLA Anderson EE's executive education mission statement by possessing comprehensive knowledge of UCLA Anderson faculty expertise and engaging UCLA Anderson faculty in custom and open enrollment programs. The Associate Director also monitors market trends to identify new program and client relationship opportunities.

The Associate Director works closely with internal and external faculty to prepare them for their teaching engagements. S/he also is responsible for researching, introducing and integrating an array of pedagogically appropriate learning elements into program curriculum and design. Preferred Demonstrated expertise in instructional design, needs analysis, educational technology, distance learning, with solid understanding of pedagogy, and trends in innovative instruction trends and faculty development. Best practice experience of instructional design principles, electronic learning, coaching, assessments, course materials, and adult learning. Required Possess and maintain expert knowledge of current and emerging technologies which can be applied to instructional and academic activities including knowledge of streaming audio and video, podcasting and social network tools. Required Proven competence in instructional design that showcases understanding of adult learning theory with ability to creatively design complex, innovative leadership development and organizational development solutions that include classroom and experiential learning. Experience with interactive teaching methods, developing teaching materials and designing learning activities. Required Enthusiasm for researching and experimenting with emerging classroom technologies and comfort using Web 2.0 tools for instruction and communication. Required Compelling interpersonal skills and experience delivering services in a high-touch environment. Required Advanced project management and organizational skills, including the ability to execute on a number of diverse projects simultaneously while managing details and meeting deadlines. Required Ability to work evenings and weekends, both at the University and remote locations. Ability to promote and demonstrate the value of EE's services to clients, faculty, and staff by analyzing opportunities and assessing fit. Required High level of initiative with the ability to integrate diverse opportunities and complex viewpoints into simple business solutions. Required Excellent oral and written communications skills, including the proven ability to write professional corporate proposals, based on understanding clients' needs and expert knowledge of EE, and superior interpersonal skills with the ability to make professional executive-level presentations. Required Strong proficiency using various hardware and software programs: Word (creation of forms & tables, signs, labels), Excel (formulas, database function, spreadsheets, data sorts, mail merges, etc.), PowerPoint, email, electronic calendaring system, Internet (web searches), contact management software, travel and entertainment reimbursement software (Express preferred), registration database (Flatbridge) and Contact Management software (Salesforce preferred) Ability to design online courses that are ADA compliant preferred. Ability to use graphics to communicate high impact proposals to clients (including SmartArt and other graphic elements). Demonstrated experience in educational technology platforms. Required Ability to professionally represent EE and the University, and attend offsite programs and client meetings at local, out-of-state, and international locations. Required Ability to deliver a superior level of customer service with excellent capability for follow through and follow up to commitments made to potential and existing customers, adhering to timelines, budgets, and promises for information. Preferred Demonstrated understanding of current domestic and international business topics, management development trends and topics. Experience
conducting business in international locations, and comfort interacting with other cultures and in international settings. Required Knowledge of Executive Education Programs, MBA-level management education, training, and professional development. Required Ability to identify confidential and sensitive information and handle with tact and discretion.
