The Department's mission is to support students' emotional and intellectual development, emotional resiliency and personal well-being toward optimizing their ability to thrive in UCLA's diverse learning environment. CAPS psychologists, clinical social workers and psychiatrists provide clinical, outreach and mental health promotion services. Clinical services are confidential and available to regularly enrolled students.

Under general supervision of the Director or designee, support the mission of Counseling and Psychological Services and the University in providing the highest quality mental health services for the wide range of students at UCLA. Perform a wide range of complex tasks including counseling and psychotherapy with students; consultation, outreach, prevention and mental health education on campus; emergency services; supervision. Perform, in addition, mental health services within a specialty. Accept overall direction from the Director, or designee, and participates in meetings, committees and carry out necessary charting and data requirements. Act in a manner consistent with the APA code of ethics. Percentage of Time: 100 Shift Start: 8:00 am Shift End: 5:00 pm function checkForSelectedStatus(){ return true;} Qualifications for Position 11 Records Qualifications Required/Preferred Doctorate in counseling or clinical psychology from an APA approved program and completion of an approved internship. Preferred Licensed for the practice of psychology in California. Required Minimum of three years professional experience in a mental health setting with at least one year in a student counseling or student mental health setting. Preferred Demonstrated ability to conduct brief psychotherapy and crisis intervention. Required Demonstrated skills in consultation work with professional and non-professional colleagues. Required Demonstrated skills in written and oral communication. Required Demonstrated ability to evaluate and intervene with severely disturbed students. Required Knowledge of applicable laws and ethics pertaining to mental health. Required Ability to work with a diverse population. Required Demonstrated ability to work as a team member in an interdisciplinary environment. Required Knowledge of basic computer skills, e.g. Windows, Word.
