Job Responsibilities

In order to build an active pool of qualified applicants, Piedmont Technical College is accepting applications for adjunct faculty (temporary, part-time) to teach at the Lex D. Walters Campus and/or our six county centers in Laurens, Newberry, Edgefield, Saluda, Abbeville, and McCormick during the day/evenings, on-line and dual credit instructors to teach in high schools. Applications will be reviewed on an as needed basis.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, teaching varying schedules to a diverse student body in accordance with the established syllabi, at a variety of locations, utilizing technology, and using a variety of teaching methods in instruction.Teach developmental and transitional level reading classes to a diverse student body. Provide in classroom support and advice to include information on College support activities available outside the classroom (i.e., tutoring, Student Support Services, Financial Aid, etc.). Follow direction of lead reading instructor and/or reading coordinator.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

Bachelors in Reading, a Bachelor's Degree in a Qualifying area (Developmental Education, Divergent Learning, English Education, English, Language Arts, Literature), or a Bachelor's Degree in a related area with teaching experience in reading at a level related to assignment.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's Degree in the qualifying areas and teaching experience at the two-year college level preferred.
