Job SummaryPerforms the cultural dances of various Polynesian cultures for one or more shows in a way that reflects the Polynesian Cultural Center's standards of excellence.

Job ResponsibilitiesPosition Scope
Performs the cultural dances of various Polynesian cultures for one or more shows, or as a member of the Promo Team.
Attends practice sessions to upgrade the quality of performance of current dances
Greets arriving guests and/or bids farewell to those guests leaving the Center.

Requirements
Must be able to learn, and subsequently perform, the various dances of each assigned Polynesian cultures.
Requires good health and a full range of body movement and be capable of moving freely among the guests.
Must look Polynesian.
Must be able to communicate in English.
Must attach resume and a screenshot of your current semester class schedule (weekly view).
Must be available to work through Christmas holiday break.
Should have a grammar school education.
Previous Polynesian dancing experience preferred.

19 hours; 5:15PM - 9:15PM

Physical RequirementsUsually performs outdoors in all types of weather.
Job hazards include, but are not limited to, tripping on steps, falling off of canoes, burns from fire poi balls, mats, knives, and torches, bruises from props, and aching muscles due to learning new dance routines.
Uses various cultural props including, but not limited to, poi balls, taiahas, patus, fans, spears, clubs, uli ulis, pu ilis, ipus, fire mats, fire knives, torches, conch shells, and sticks.
Uses other types of materials such as body paint, coconut oil, real and artificial flowers and leaves, body ornaments and blazo fuel.
Work schedule varies according to work shift, Monday through Saturday with one day off.
