Job Summary/Basic Function:
The Department of Rehabilitation and Health Services in the College of Health and Public Service at the University of North Texas seeks an outstanding and energetic full-time Assistant Professor of Rehabilitation Counseling for a nine-month tenure track position. Teaching responsibilities include both undergraduate courses in Rehabilitation Studies and graduate level courses in the Master's in Rehabilitation Counseling. The candidate selected for this position will be expected to maintain continued scholarship and funded research activity, engage in high-quality, innovative, online teaching as well as traditional face-to-face instruction; serve as appropriate on department, college, and university committees; and actively participate in professional organizations.

The Department of Rehabilitation & Health Services is an interdisciplinary department which houses a Ph.D. in Health Services Research, two Master's degrees (Rehabilitation Counseling and Health Services Administration), two Bachelor's degrees (Public Health and Rehabilitation Studies), and several minors and certificates. In addition to being an innovative, student-centered instructor, the ideal candidate will be student-centered and invested in supporting and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students; participating in interdisciplinary research initiatives; have a record of seeking and/or securing external funding to support research activities and facilitating community-focused programming.

Minimum Qualifications:
Doctorate (or ABD) in Rehabilitation Counselor Education, Counselor Education and Supervision, Rehabilitation Counseling, Counseling Psychology, Rehabilitation Psychology, or a closely related field which meets Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP) requirements for core faculty (or which meets the grandfather provisions for existing rehabilitation counseling faculty or recent graduates) Ph.D. must be completed before August 1, 2019.

Evidence of potential to secure grants from federal, state or foundation funding sources.

Successful experience supervising, mentoring, and teaching undergraduate and master's students in a rehabilitation/counseling or psychology program.

CRC credential or eligibility to sit for the CRC exam (applicant must indicate status in the letter of application).

Eligible for or current professional licensure as Licensed Professional Counselor.

Ability to work collaboratively with faculty across disciplines.

Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Preferred Qualifications:
Two - five years of experience providing rehabilitation services to people with disabilities, psychiatric disabilities and/or substance use disorders.

Experience with instructional technology (online, instructional software, Canvas LMS) and the ability to teach in traditional and non-traditional formats and settings (off-campus, weekends, on-line) are preferred.
