Department Overview
The Translational Aging Research Program is devoted towards eliminating neurodegenerative diseases. Our team spans basic "bench-top" science, clinical research, community-based research and clinical trials. Our translational approach is intended to foster discovery and expedite those discoveries toward the benefit of those suffering from brain disease. A particular emphasis of TARP is the development of personalized (or person-focused) medicine for Alzheimer's disease.

Position Details
The Institute for Translational Research at the University of North Texas Health Science Center is seeking to hire a Senior Web App Developer that is responsible for creating research databases for NIH funded grants and web development. Position will design, create and modify web applications. Analyze user needs to implement Web site/portal content, graphics, performance and capacity. Integrate Web sites with other computer applications.

Other specific duties include:
* Facilitate data entry, maintenance, reporting, tracking, and general upkeep of SQL data for data access, reporting, and publications.
* Merge and verify Data sets.
* Maintain and improve current LIMS implementations for the Lab.
* Conduct day to day operations for web portal: managing requests, facilitating approval process for data requests, cutting datasets, and communicating with investigators.
* Creation and maintenance of relational study databases for research projects.

Required Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess the following required qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree and five (5) years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications:

* Highly motivated and driven by a desire to solve difficult problems, and learn new technology.
* Excellent communication and cross-group collaboration skills.
* Flexibility to adapt to evolving needs and requirements.
* Excellent web application development expertise, HTML/CSS/Javascript skills, insight into crafting a user friendly and efficient user experience.
* Great teamwork, communication and attention to detail.
