Position Summary
The Department of Natural Sciences and Mathematics at Dominican University of California invites outstanding applicants for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the field of biology or chemistry, with experience in biochemistry, chemical biology, molecular biology, cell biology, or bioinformatics. The successful candidate is expected to teach a variety of biology and/or chemistry courses and demonstrate excellence in teaching, develop a strong research program supported by extramural funding involving undergraduate students, and establish cross-disciplinary collaborations both inside and outside the University.
Responsibilities
- Teach three- and four-unit courses at the Undergraduate/Graduate level.
- Attend and contribute to faculty meetings and other professional development activities
- Mentor and advise students on the progress of their projects, coursework and in career development
- Participate in curriculum development for individual courses and overall program
- Direct undergraduate research projects that produce publishable results
- Uphold academic performance standards and integrity
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Biology or Chemistry.
Preferred Qualifications
- Postdoctoral experience.
- Teaching experience at the college level in biology or chemistry.
- Research Experience in any of these areas: biochemistry, chemical biology, molecular biology, cell biology, and/or bioinformatics.
