Description:
The Registrar is responsible for the overall leadership and management of all administrative, operational, and technical functions of the Registrar's Office. The Registrar maintains the highest standard of accuracy, security and privacy of student records, and keeps abreast of regulations and best practices in compliance with federal law, state law, and accreditation agencies. The Registrar directs and coordinates college registration activities such as course registration, course schedule changes, classroom management and course room assignments. Oversees maintenance of undergraduate and graduate student records, degree completion and certification, grading, transcripts, enrollment verifications, transfer of credit, and other functions as they relate to student records.
Campus Location: Boston Campus
Required Knowledge:
Masters degree. Understanding of College Registrar office operations and an understanding of databases and technological systems. Excellent communication skills required as is the ability to work effectively with students, faculty, department chairs and academic administrators.
Preferred/Desirable Knowledge:
• Creative problem solving and innovative thinking, including the ability to envision new initiatives to better serve the needs of the College, and its students;
• Excellent customer service orientation, ability to work collaboratively with students, faculty, staff, and administrators;
• Thorough knowledge and understanding of federal, state and accreditation agencies rules and regulations as they relate to the Office of the Registrar and ensures compliance with appropriate rules and regulations;
• Exceptional management, problem solving, administrative, analytical, interpersonal, communication and organizational skills;
• Demonstrated ability to work within a collaborative and collegial framework, and to foster this ability in others.
Required Prior Work Experience:
A minimum of 5 years of professional-level experience in a Registrar’s Office with direct supervision and professional development of staff.
