Academic Library Fellowship
The St. Lawrence University Academic Library Fellowship offers a unique opportunity in a small liberal arts setting to a recent M.L.S. (or equivalent graduate degree) by providing a launching pad for a career in academic librarianship. Structured as an experience for newly qualified and early career librarians, the Fellow will develop a broad knowledge of the activities and functions of an academic library. This position will provide the selected candidate with professional early work experience and career development opportunities in preparation for future roles in the field. Individuals will refine professional skills, explore areas of specialization, and begin to build a professional network in preparation for future career opportunities.
The Fellow will be appointed at the rank of faculty librarian for a one and a half-year term from January 2019 through June 2020. Compensation is competitive and based upon relevant experience and qualifications. The appointment will be full-time with access to the University’s benefits package. Professional development support including attendance at least one national conference as well as regional opportunities will be available.
