Test Center Specialist Description/Job Summary Summary of position’s responsibilities
  • Serve as primary service provider for various types of testing services
  • Coordinate, administer, proctor, and when required, score all forms of exams including BCCC course exams, placement, , distance learning, external, and other vendor-based exams , ensuring provision of approved reasonable accommodations as warranted;
  • Must meet and continue to meet certification requirements for vendor-based exams;
  • Enter testing and placement data accurately into the College’s database system and upload vendor information as necessary;
  • Process test scores to and from other colleges;
  • Schedule test appointments and maintain test files, including maintenance of security, storage, and delivery;
  • Communicate with technical support staff to secure time-sensitive assistance in solving technical problems;
  • Communicate with faculty, staff, students, and other interested parties with regards to testing issues and refer complex issues to the supervisor;
  • Publicizes, schedules, and conducts testing sessions in accordance with the College’s policies and procedures;
  • Prepare, analyze, and provide reports on miscellaneous subjects, as requested
  • Provide support for special projects;
  • Includes evening and weekend work and travel to other locations when necessary

Required Skills
  • Strong customer service skills;
  • Knowledge of acceptable examination and testing policies and procedures;
  • Knowledge of standard office procedures; basic math; record keeping and filing systems; standard software applications;
  • Ability to use business English, spelling, punctuation and grammar;
  • Ability to research, interpret, and apply mandated testing rules, regulations, policies and procedures;
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment; set-up and maintain database files, store/retrieve data, and create, edit and print documents and reports;
  • Ability to maintain security and confidentiality of testing processes;
  • Ability to prepare reports and surveys;
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical computations to calculate scoring results and percentages;
  • Ability to coordinate a variety of projects simultaneously; organize and prioritize work;
  • Ability to follow detailed directions and procedures;
  • Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing with diverse groups;
  • Must have proficient computer skills, including MS Office.
Required Qualifications
  • Associate’s Degree
  • Minimum of (3) three years of progressively responsible experience in a customer service environment; including data entry, manage appointments and schedules, and the use of web based applications
  • Applicants cannot be enrolled in undergraduate credit level courses with any institution at any time while in this position.
  • Additional experience administering or in functioning as a Test Proctor may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience in computer-based testing, testing administration, test security procedures, and confidentiality procedures in higher education or related field
