This position has administrative oversight of the staff and physical office space for Career Services, and decision-making responsibilities for Alumni & Career Services in absence of the Director.

Primary Responsibilities01. Maintains database of BYUH alumni, recruiters, business leaders, government officials, and opinion leaders who have a relationship with BYUH and are willing to participate in networking activities with students., 02. Supports electronic media communication with contacts in the BYUH career services networks, 03. Provides guidance to students looking to tap into the BYUH career network, 04. Handles administrative support functions for the Director of Career Services, 05. Performs other duties as assigned.

Alumni & Career Services Studio Manager

Responsible for:

  • Student service

    • Deliver professional communications training/services: Resumes, Mock Interviews, “Me in 30 Seconds”, “Power Statements”

    • Register students’ internships and manage the related workflows in Handshake

    • Teach students principles of perpetual career reinvention / life design

    • Prepare students annually for the Asia Pacific Career Conference

    • Introduce students to Handshake, PeopleGrove, VMock, and StandOut

    • Organize and conduct regular training workshops

    • Deliver MBTI theory introductions (“step 2” - the video)

    • Conduct individual MBTI confirmation appointments with students (with support from others in the department as needed)

  • Alumni service

    • Conduct alumni orientation and First Destination Survey

    • Produce alumni association cards and introduce people to PeopleGrove

    • Organize alumni meet-ups (both local and digital/Zoom)

  • Campus coordination

    • Chair the Faculty/ACS Coordination Council

    • Train and coordinate with Internship Coordinators

    • Make classroom presentations (MBTI, life design, department services overviews, etc.)

    • Liaise with the Polynesian Cultural Center's SDS Manager

  • Management/Administration

    • Manage a team of 7-10 student employees

    • Train and oversee the work of a full-time missionary

    • Oversee all operations within the Alumni & Career Services Studio

    • Attend monthly ACS department meetings

    • Attend monthly ACS managers meetings

    • Manage a personal travel budget ($2,000/year) and pursue regular professional development and improvement
