Job Description:

The School of Education at Mills College invites applications for a full-time Assistant Adjunct Professor, Child Life Program in Hospitals, to begin immediately. The hire will be expected to direct the administration of the Child Life program. Responsibilities of this position will include recruiting, teaching, and advising students, directing site placements and supervision, coordinating adjunct faculty, supporting online courses and online supervision, and the ongoing work associated with external accreditation and internal program reviews. Finally, the hire will support the larger ECE program by engaging in program development and assessment, planning and attending program meetings and events, and demonstrating active engagement in service to the School of Education and the College.

Requirements:

We are seeking an applied practitioner, with experience teaching and supervising students in the Child Life hospital setting. This position requires certification as a Child Life Specialist, with a minimum of an MA degree in Education or related field. The successful applicant will be actively engaged with the Child Life field and demonstrate administrative and leadership abilities. We are seeking a faculty member with a clear commitment to working in and to preparing students for work in urban and multicultural contexts.

Additional Information:

This is a full-time, exempt position. Compensation is commensurate with experience, and includes an excellent benefits package including medical/dental/vision/life/LTD insurance, 403(b) retirement plan with college-matching after 6 month qualifying period.
