Job Details

Washington and Lee University seeks a Visiting Assistant Professor of Engineering beginning fall 2019.  This position is a three-year, full-time position, authorized due to sustained enrollment demand. The person we hire will teach six courses in the 2019-20 academic year and will contribute to discussions on expanding the curriculum to include coursework at the intersection of engineering design and society.

Qualifications

Applicants should have demonstrated interest in teaching and mentoring undergraduates and ability to teach courses across an engineering curriculum, including engineering mechanics, circuits, and topical courses at the upper level.  Teaching or experience in the field of engineering design is desirable.  Ph.D. in a field of engineering is required. Strong candidates nearing completion of the Ph. D. may also be considered for appointment at the rank of visiting instructor.

Washington and Lee is a highly selective university of approximately 1800 undergraduates and 400 law students located in the Shenandoah Valley, three hours SW of Washington, DC.
