Arkansas State University-Beebe is seeking a Network Support Analyst that, under the indirect supervision of the Director of Business & Technical Services – ITS, will serve as a technical expert for the College for the successful design, documentation, selection, installation, and maintenance of secure network systems to include LAN/WAN data communications and IP telephony. The analyst ensures that network systems are efficiently implemented to perform effectively and securely to meet the approved requirements of varied service areas and users throughout the College. Install, configure, maintain and monitor network equipment and resources; monitor and report network performance and utilization; evaluate network activities and prepare and present recommendations for effective and efficient operations; and coordinate maintenance and support activities, vendor contracts and agreements.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
· Knowledge in design, management, or troubleshooting a large data network or a large wireless network.
· Knowledge of network monitoring tools.
· Knowledge of data, voice, video, and wireless networks.
· Ability to communicate orally and in writing and provide assistance in resolving technical issues.
· Ability to read and comprehend technical documents to resolve problems.

Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background and credit check.

Salary Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in Information Systems, Computer Science, or directly related field and two years of experience that must include support of enterprise level networking operations with increasing levels of responsibility, as well as independent configuration and deployment of enterprise level firewall, IPS, and load balancing systems, with direct support of enterprise core routing and switching elements. In lieu of education, The equivalent directly related experience will be considered.

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates with knowledge/experience directly relating to partner/vendor interactions are desirable. A current HP Aruba certification in CCNA + Voice and/or CompTIA Network+ is also desirable.

Arkansas State University-Beebe is an operationally separate, two-year institution of the Arkansas State University System.  With campuses located in Beebe, Heber Springs, Searcy, and Little Rock Air Force Base, we offer associate degrees, certificates, and non-credit training for business and industry.  The Beebe campus also collaborates with Arkansas State, a four-year university in Jonesboro, to offer baccalaureate and graduate degrees on the Beebe campus.  Courses are also offered at additional locations within our service area, and many courses are taught in locations convenient to business and industry.
