Job SummaryThe Department of Family and Community Medicine is in search of the Chief of the Division of Population Medicine in response to growing opportunities for community engagement in education and research. This leader will drive innovation population medicine clinical innovations across the Department’s clinics in its efforts to be a national model in value-based transformation.
This Division Chief of Population Medicine will lead and further develop the Division of Population Medicine within the Department of Family and Community Medicine, and will report to the Chair of the Department of Family and Community Medicine.
Responsibilities for this position will include developing and growing the Department’s Population Medicine programs related to clinical innovations, education, and research, as well as directing and growing the Kentucky Ambulatory Network – a statewide practice-based research network of 130+ provider members with the mission to conduct primary care research. This position will also lead the Population Medicine clinical programs to improve population-level quality metrics across department clinics.
The Division Chief will assist the Department Chair with planning, implementation and evaluation of other departmental initiatives and programs related to Population Medicine, as negotiated with the Department Chair. In addition, this position will develop a patient panel to role model family physician skills and to maintain clinical acumen.

Research
In fiscal year 2016, the University of Kentucky was awarded $316.5 million in external grants and contracts.
