Job Description:

Instructional facilitator will be responsible for assisting students taking guided self-study courses in the area of writing and reading. Develop course curricula, preview and prepare instructional materials. Provide content tutoring for students and assign grades. Responsible for the continuous monitoring of student progress. Maintain records and prepare reports. Act as a liaison with English Department. Additional duties as assigned by the Director of the Center for Self-Directed Learning.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in English, Creative Writing, Communications, Literature, Education or a related area, with one (1) year experience and/or training that includes course facilitation, content tutoring, course/curriculum development and instructional technology; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Proven ability to work effectively with a diverse faculty, staff and student population
  • Will be required to work one evening (1:00pm-9:00pm)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of self-study model of teaching and learning
  • Experience teaching in a community college

Additional Information:

Salary Range: $50,785.00 - $62,212.00

Grade: 5, Unit-Professional position
