JOB SUMMARY:

The employee will oversee the Clemson vegetable weed control website. The employee will be involved in construction of the website. Duties will include data entry, monitoring hits of the website and writing a monthly summary. Other duties as assigned.
JOB DUTIES:

50% - Essential - Work with Dr Cutulle on the development of a vegetable weed control website. The website will contain an interactive drop down bar menu for selecting weed control options in different vegetable crops. Additionally, the website will have a weed identification portion; thus assisting with pictures of weeds will be part of the position as well.

20% - Essential - Provide monthly summaries of website use, including recommendations about how to improve the website based on grower comments.

20% - Essential - The technician will be responsible for entering data from weed control trials that will be uploaded to the website.

10% - Essential - The technician will assist the lab in conducting field and greenhouse trials on vegetable weed management that are relevant to the website's content

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education - 1st Associate's Degree - Some experience in website design; or an ability to quickly acquire this skill set.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

10% - Stand for prolonged period
50% - Sit (stationary position) for prolonged period
10% - Walk or move about
5% - Use hands or feet to operate or handle machinery, equipment, etc
5% - Position self to accomplish task (i.e. stoop, kneel, crawl)
5% - Recognize or inspect visually
5% - Move, transport, raise or lower
5% - Extends hands or arms in any direction
5% - Perceive, observe, clarity of vision

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Exposure to heat or cold
Mechanical hazards

This person will mostly be at a desk, but on rare occasions will be sent to the field to assist with data collection

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

Education - 1st Bachelor's Degree - Computer Science with some agricultural experience or Agricultural Science with some experience in website design or maintenance.

Standard Hrs: 37.5; Band: 03 ($ 28,900.00 - $ 35,300.00)
