Reporting to the Director of General Education, the Assistant Director will assist with all aspects of program operations and oversight, including course and faculty scheduling and evaluation; communications to faculty, staff, and students; first-year student success initiatives; and overall program assessment of student learning outcomes in a mostly online environment.

In addition to the CUNY Title Overview, duties include but are not limited to:
- Assists program faculty with course development and re-development projects
- Provides support to program faculty in the development and revision of course materials, including: assignments, syllabi, rubrics, and multimedia, and, alignment with course and program learning outcomes
- Participates in course quality reviews to determine areas of quality and areas for improvement
- Assists with course and program assessment projects and initiatives
- Develop and maintain records and resources for use by General Education program staff and faculty including textbooks, schedules, syllabi, grades and grade appeals, and other information required for reporting to internal and external stakeholders
- Works with program director to identify funding opportunities and to plan and implement first-year student success initiatives
- Liaises with faculty, staff, and other stakeholders in support of program operations and development
 
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree and four years' relevant experience required.

A preferred candidate should have:
- Experience in higher education
- Knowledge of the LMS Blackboard or another LMS
- Some experience with online course development process
- Knowledge of learning outcomes assessment
- Experience with screen capture and authoring tools
- Knowledge of emerging technologies and open source educational materials
- Ability to work independently and take initiative in directing own work, as well as working efficiently with others
- Excellent written, oral, and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW
- Participates in the daily coordination of academic and administrative activities of a College's specialized academic program under management direction.
- Supports program development, student service delivery, outcome evaluation and instructor/student recruitment, enrollment, and retention.
- Recommends, implements and evaluates strategies to expand program offerings
- Prepares analytical and statistical reports for management
- Develops and maintains relationships with various College offices to improve student and faculty services
- Serves as resource expert regarding program policies and procedures
- Oversees office recordkeeping; manages updates of program web and print materials
- May supervise office operations and/or department budget
- Performs related duties as assigned.

Salary commensurate with education and experience up to $78,477.
