The Department of Communication, Media, & Theatre at Muskingum University invites applications for a full-time tenure track position in Organizational Communication at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning the fall semester of 2019.     The vibrant Communication, Media, & Theatre Department operates Orbit Media, a campus converged student media organization, which offers a 24 hour cable channel and YouTube channel, as well as an online and print student newspaper, a media production program, and highly ranked forensics team and lively journalism and theatre programs.

Experience and interest in sports communication is required, as this faculty member will contribute to the Athletics Communication major through teaching advanced coursework, supervision of student internships, and career advising.   In addition to courses in the field of athletics communication, the successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses in Public Speaking, Small Group Communication, Organizational Communication, Public Relations, and other courses supporting the academic programs of the department.   

Applicants must have completed a Ph.D. in Organizational Communication or a related field by the fall of 2019.   Candidates who are ABD will be considered, with the understanding that the Ph.D. will need to be finished within a year.  Faculty members are expected to maintain standards of professional conduct and ethics appropriate to the communication profession.
