South Central College, a comprehensive technical and community college with campuses in North Mankato and Faribault, Minnesota, seeks qualified applicants and nominations for the Dean of Health Sciences (HS). The Dean of HS will report to the Vice President for Student and Academic Affairs and will serve as a member of the Deans Council and College management teams. The Dean of HS is a front-line leader of the College and serves as the academic leader and representative of faculty within the HS division, provides instructional management and strategic leadership for the division, represents the college in the community, and seeks additional resources to help support the HSLAS division and College.

SCC, a member of the Minnesota State System and accredited by the Higher Learning Commission, awards certificates, diplomas, and associate degrees. The College serves nearly 5000 students (50% full-time, 47% female, 20% students of color). Both campuses are in the heart of southern Minnesota with excellent schools, abundant health care, and many cultural and recreational opportunities.

The Dean of HS is accountable for ensuring the quality and integrity of the excellent Nursing and Allied Health programs. This deanship is a new position and will require the capacity to bring coherence to the several diverse and complex disciplines. The Dean is responsible for maintaining the highest quality health educational programming. The Dean must assure that the necessary and appropriate accreditations are maintained and, when applicable, oversee accreditation site visits and periodic reports. Key qualifications include: Master's degree required (doctorate preferred), work experience in health care is required, teaching experience is required (higher education setting preferred), leadership experience required with a minimum of three years supervisory experience preferred, experience with accreditation of higher education programs preferred.
