NHTI, Concord’s Community College (NHTI), a comprehensive community college serving over 4500 students across 92 academic programs, seeks an experienced President of outstanding character who is passionate about the mission of community colleges, committed to academic quality and rigor, and interested in making a long-term commitment to the college and region.

NHTI is ideally situated in the heart of New Hampshire in the capital city of Concord, a vibrant, walkable community with a recently revitalized downtown. The college offers students a full campus life that includes residence halls, student clubs, and athletics on a 240-acre campus that includes fields and woods with frontage on the Merrimack River. It is an easy drive to the White Mountains, New Hampshire's Lakes Region, the New England seacoast, and metropolitan Boston.

Throughout its 53-year history NHTI has evolved to meet the needs of its community, region, and state. As such, the next President will be a relationship-builder; the face and voice of NHTI who enthusiastically communicates its value while forging critical and lasting partnerships. These partnerships span business, industry, and community leaders, legislators, government officials, and counterparts from K-12 and other educational institutions and organizations.

The new President will have the ability to navigate the changing landscape of higher education and identify new opportunities and a vibrant path forward. As the college’s chief executive officer, NHTI’s next leader will be a responsible financial steward, mindful of budget realities but resolute in making informed investments in the college’s future.

The next President will model effective, open, and inspirational leadership, creating and nurturing a high-trust work environment that encourages appropriate risk-taking, collaboration and a climate of openness, understanding, and respect. Inheriting a dedicated faculty and staff, the college’s next leader will leverage and develop the talent of the college workforce and will work to articulate and implement a shared vision built through inclusive dialogue across employee groups.

NHTI’s next President will have an operational approach that is both data-driven and high-touch. The ideal candidate is emotionally intelligent, mindful to learn and understand prior to and when initiating new ideas and change.

As one of seven institutions that form the Community College System of New Hampshire (CCSNH), the new President will work effectively with counterparts at the other colleges and with system colleagues. CCSNH is a highly collaborative system, linked by an overarching vision and strategic goals and recognized nationally for its work with “guided pathways” to improve student persistence and completion. The President will thrive in an environment that fosters healthy discourse among leaders to promote creative and innovative solutions.

Finally, the next President will share NHTI’s commitment to diversity and inclusion, recognizing the importance and added value of establishing a welcoming culture and sense of belonging for all students, faculty, and staff. NHTI is committed to developing students as future leaders and members of a diverse and global workforce.
