The University of North Texas Health Science Center Department of Physical Therapy is housed within the School of Health Professions (SHP), which also includes a Physician Assistant Studies Program and an online Graduate Certificate in Lifestyle Health. The PT department offers a clinical Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) and a dual-degree DPT/Ph.D. in Structural Anatomy and Rehabilitation Sciences in collaboration with the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences. Position Details
The Physical Therapy Department at the University of North Texas Health Science Center is seeking to hire a Postdoctoral Research Associate to join our team. Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:
Postdoctoral Research Associates duties are related to research activities, required an advance level of knowledge in their perspective filed. Learning, are be in the majority intellectual and varied in character, and required consistent use of discretion and judgment.
A PhD in biomedical or mechanical engineering, bio-mechanics or health sciences. Individuals who hold MD degrees with relevant research experience will also be considered.
* Experience in clinical bio-mechanics research, engineering software such as Matlab, LabView, Comsol, etc.
* Ability to effectively communicate with study subjects.
* Execute experiments independently, collect data and take good notes of experiments, and keep up-to-date with the most recent literature in the field of study.
* Write manuscripts and prepare materials for scientific presentations inside and outside.
* Perform technical procedures involved in execution of own experiments (i.e. Analyze experimental results of experimental protocols).
* Presentation of project results to internal and external parties.
* Operates specialized scientific equipment.
* Performs statistical analyses, including selecting the appropriate analysis procedure, setting up data for analysis, judging validity and reliability of data, designing and writing programs to perform analyses, and producing written reports on the result of the analyses.
* Write research results for publication (i.e. Clearly summarize data for analysis, prepare needed figures for publication and participate in preparing revisions of manuscripts).
* Provide knowledge and help with experiments as requested by graduate students.
* Engaged in fieldwork and writing of technical publications and reports.

Required Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess the following required qualifications:
*Appropriate doctoral degree. If the degree had not been conferred at the time applicant applied for a postdoc position, a letter needs to be attached from the school's official Graduate Office and/or Registrar's Office certifying that all requirements for the degree have been met and stating the degree conferral date.
Preferred Qualifications
The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications:
* This job operates in a professional office environment.
* This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
* This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required.
* This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bending or standing on a stool as necessary.
