Job Details
Princeton University
A postdoctoral or more senior research position is available in the Hasson lab at the Department of Psychology and Princeton Neuroscience Institute at Princeton University. Communication is a dynamic process by which information is transferred across people. The lab will develop a new brain-to-brain coupling framework for understanding the neural mechanisms underlying communication. This research aims to test the idea that during communication, the listener's brain responses become coupled to the speaker's brain responses, and that such neural coupling is necessary for successful communication. The idea will be tested with fMRI, fNIRS, ECOG using hyperscanning setups combined with new mathematical tools, opening new ways to quantify two-person interactions during communication in real-life settings. A PhD in either neuroscience, computer science, biomedical engineering, or a related field is required. We are seeking candidates with a solid computational background, interest in dynamical systems, signal processing skills (python or MatLab), and experience with fMRI. For further information, please contact Uri Hasson at hasson@princeton.edu. The term of this appointment is for one year, with the possibility of renewal based upon satisfactory performance and funding. Interested applicants must apply online at https://www.princeton.edu/acad-positions/position/3662 and include a cover letter, a curriculum vitae including a publication list, and contact information of at least two references. This position is subject to the University's background check policy.
