Applications are invited for a one semester appointment during the 2018-19 spring semester as a Translator in Residence at the Princeton Institute for International and Regional Studies (PIIRS). Appointment will be at the rank of Lecturer, and duty time will depend on course enrollments and other designated responsibilities. The successful candidate should be an established translator into English with a project currently in progress, and will be expected to contribute to PIIRS and the Program in Creative Writing by teaching in the area of theory and practice of translation and advising undergraduate student translators. The candidate will be expected to co-teach a seminar in translation studies, and participate in such other courses offered by the Program in Translation and Intercultural Communication and the Program in Creative Writing, as appropriate. Teaching responsibilities will also include grading and holding weekly office hours. The person appointed will be expected to reside in or near Princeton for the duration of their appointment, and will be provided with office space on campus. An advanced degree is required.
