The Wellness and Advisor Program Coordinator is responsible for supporting and implementing the Wellness Program and PATH Initiative, and provides additional support for general Student Affairs Office operations.

Wellness Program: Working closely with the Academic Enhancement Office, the student-led Wellness Initiative, and Student Health and Behavioral Health services, the Coordinator will support and implement student wellness activities, ensuring that students have a wide range of options that help them maintain their mental and physical well-being. Specific responsibilities include coordinating student and Student Affairs office wellness activities with the Associate Dean; creating/cataloguing wellness resources, including BU’s mental health resources; partnering with Academic Enhancement to implement and evaluate wellness programs, workshops, and initiatives that align with PATH, including a Resilience curriculum; and assisting the Director in management of the Wellness budget.

PATH Initiative: The Coordinator will provide support for the PATH Initiative, which encompasses key elements of professional development that complement the academic curriculum (i.e., Professional Identity Formation; Advancing to Residency through Mentoring and Advising; Techniques for Lifelong Learning, Resiliency, and Wellness; and Humanism and Advocacy). Specific responsibilities include maintaining the timeline for PATH, as well as assembling and organizing all written materials and producing quarterly progress reports; coordinating class meetings; working closely with faculty advisors and Student Affairs deans to coordinate the Core and Field Specific Advisor (FSA) programs and manage the Advisor Network, annual Advisor Retreat, online resources, and databases; serve as the point of contact for Careers in Medicine (CiM) and assist in organizing an annual student career fair with Academic Enhancement; and develop CV writing workshops and CV resources for the new career resources section on the Student Affairs website.

Additional responsibilities: The Coordinator will organize regular student focus groups and support the collection and synthesis of student input about the Wellness Program and PATH Initiative; help create and maintain websites with Wellness and PATH information for students; and meet regularly with both the Director and Associate Dean to assess and improve programs. Additionally, they will plan, organize, and/or assist with special events organized by Student Affairs and contribute to day-to-day office workflow, including answering phones, booking student appointments with the Associate and assistant deans, and ordering office supplies.

Required Skills

Bachelors Degree and 1-3 years of related experience. Interest/experience in higher education and demonstrated passion for health and wellness/advising desirable. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; strong interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills; flexibility, creativity, and multitasking abilities; event planning experience; sound judgment; the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment; high degree of professionalism; and the ability to interact with tact and confidentiality with many individuals at all levels.
