Research Coordinator in the Sensorimotor Rehabilitation Engineering Lab within the Department of Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences at Sargent College (http://people.bu.edu/cstepp/). This position is responsible for the coordination of subject recruitment, scheduling of subject recordings, ordering of equipment and supplies, tracking of grant budget spending, assisting with (and ultimately leading) preparation and maintenance of human subjects applications, completion of clerical work (processing reimbursements, updating lab website text, posting to social media, assisting with scientific document preparation) and assisting with data collection and processing. Position will liaise with local health professionals, schools and clinical service providers, contact potential participants and their families (including families of young children and adults with disabilities) and prepare and distribute recruitment materials at local establishments. Research coordinator is also responsible for for identifying new initiatives for recruitment and outreach, implementing recruitment protocols and maintaining participant databases. These responsibilities will be in coordination of undergraduate students working within the lab as research assistants and clinical recruiters.

Required Skills

Bachelors degree required. Required skills include organizational, managerial, computer literacy and excellent interpersonal communication. Preference to communication sciences or medical background, EMT certification, MATLAB proficiency, scientific writing experience, experience working with young children and their families and/or individuals with disabilities. Position has an initial hire term of 1 year with the possibility of renewal. Position is contingent upon the availability of external funding.
