The Compliance Analyst monitors and audits financial activity and expenditures for sponsored awards and subawards which fund research projects. This position ensures that all financial activities regarding these funds meet all applicable state, federal, and funding agency regulations and contractual terms and conditions. The Compliance Analyst is also responsible for assisting with the administration of all sponsored project awards. Major duties of this position include performing desk reviews of subrecipient invoices and conducting a review of all federal subrecipients both as part of the University's required submonitoring policies; and assisting with a variety of internal and external audits including the federal Uniform Guidance audit.

Required Skills

Requires B.A./B.S., strong analytical, organizational and communication skills and one to three years of related experience. Strong Microsoft Excel and/or Access skills are preferred. The Compliance Analyst operates under general supervision, therefore excellent organizational and time management skills, attention to detail, ability to multi-task, excellent verbal and written communication skills are paramount. Must be a self-starter, diplomatic, pro-active, and able to adapt an advanced knowledge of skills, methods, practices, policies and/or procedures and a moderate degree of innovation, analysis and reasoning to complete work that is somewhat project oriented and involves some complex problems and/or decisions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms and bend to lift items. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products, catering and supplies, up to 20 pounds.
