Boston University’s College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences: Sargent College invites applications for a full-time Lecturer (non-tenure track) position to join the Human Physiology program in the Department of Health Sciences. This is a full-time, renewable, non-tenure track appointment that will begin in Fall 2020. Lecturers at Boston University are expected to teach, contribute to curriculum development, advise students, participate in service, and demonstrate a commitment to our institutional values regarding diversity, equity, and inclusion. The individual hired into this position will teach 3 courses per semester, advise undergraduate and graduate students in Human Physiology, and engage in service as a member of the university community. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to teach a variety of courses which could include but are not limited to Human Anatomy, Physiology across the Lifespan, Human Illness and Disease, Physiology of Sex and Reproduction, Pulmonary Pathophysiology and/or other related courses.

Qualifications include:

  • A doctoral degree (PhD or equivalent) in Human Physiology, Biology or a closely related field
  • Teaching experience at the college/university level is required
  • Interest and/or experience in undergraduate student advising is required
  • Strong communication skills and a desire to mentor undergraduate and graduate students
