Marketing & Graphic Design Assistant

This position is only available to current UCI employees.

The Student Government & Student Media (SGSM) office at the University of California, Irvine serves over 27,000 undergraduates and 5,000 graduate students on campus. The department has 17 staff members who assist and advise over 100 student officers and leaders, and 300 student volunteers. With an internal budget of over $4 million dollars, SGSM supports a variety of programs and services to the campus as well as advocacy campaigns. Working under supervision of the Marketing Manager, the Marketing & Graphic Design Assistant works with key communicators within the SGSM units to establish and strengthen the SGSM brand and sub-brands, ensure that the publications and electronic media meet the institutional goals and objectives, and create and maintain the consistency of the SGSM image, identity, and look throughout the various media and across campus through coordinated marketing campaigns with on-campus entities. The position will be a direct-assistant position in the event the Manager is unavailable.

This position is responsible for assisting in the overall design of the SGSM departmental, divisional, and event collateral, including printed and electronic materials.

Assists in organizing, editing, and managing the electronic and written publications and processes, including: conceptualizing, planning, solicitation, and editing of material supplied by clients, creation of original content, design, and production.

Assists with departments to manage publications and communication workflow.

Assists and provides leadership in the implementation of SGSM branding to units in the division.

Assists in conceptualizing, designing, editing, and publishing content and graphics for multimedia communications, publications, and other materials as appropriate to department needs.

Assists in training and developing a staff of three paid student positions to assist in marketing and creative needs as part of the core marketing team.

Salary: Hourly $21.54 (Min. start)
Total Hours: 8-5, M-F
Career Position.
This is a full-time, 40-hours per week position requiring flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends.
